Antique Emerald locket, Silver and Gold

This wonderful example of Austro Hungarian jewellery was made in the 1860’s, showing the great craftsmanship of this period. The open metalwork is peppered with hand cut natural emeralds of differing shapes and sizes. Typical of this period, making this piece even more endearing. On the reverse a beautifully concealed gold hinge holds a glass fitted back which opens effortlessly.
