Regency (Georgian) Memorial Ring Circa 1812
This is a wonderful regency, mourning ring. The black enamel and gold lettering flow around the shank like silk. It is a size 7 and 1/2 to 8. The ring cannot be sized except with an internal , metal sizer. The ring weighs 4.3 grams, and the shield measures 3/8 of an inch North to South, and the same East to West. Inside the band , the hallmarks are fully visible, 18 carat gold, minted in London, in the year, 1812. Outside the ring is engraved and enamelled Lady Every ob 30th Aug, 1812 AET 35. There's a glass covered locket at the top of the ring with finely woven hair. This ring looks very elegant on the finger with the dark black enamel and buttery 18 carat yellow gold.
