Georgian Diamond Ring
This wonderful example of Georgian memorial jewellery was made in England. The back of the ring is inscribed ‘Sam Wood’ OB 6th Oct 1794 ango commemorating the birth of a child. The top of the wide tapering band is adorned in a raised oval with (12) rose cut diamonds, a total estimated diamond weight of 1.90 carat. Each diamond has been foiled and set in a closed back rub over collet of silver. This surrounds beautifully woven strands of the baby’s blonde hair under rock crystal.
